About Me!
My name is Sammi Levine, an oil painter from Houston, Texas. I graduated the University of Delaware Honors College in May 2024 with a B.A in Art Conservation. I currently attend Pratt Institute as a M.F.A Fine Arts candidate with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing.
My interests lie at the intersection of the contemporary art world, historical art materials and techniques, and conservation practices. My background in art conservation significantly inspires my current art practice and philosophy. Technical analysis of the construction and deterioration of art lends to my taste for structure and process over the final artwork. Whether I am working with art in a conservation, gallery, academic, or personal context, the physicality and process of art-making ultimately entices me. I am interested in adapting historical artistic techniques to contemporary experimentation.
